20-20 Technologies launches mobile companion application

Laval-based 20-20 Technologies inc., a specialist in 3-D interior design and furniture manufacturing software, said Tuesday it has launched a mobile companion application for its existing online interior space plannng products for retailers, manufacturers and designers and their customers.

The first release of the mobile 20-20 Icovia Tablet Edition software is in use by a Furniture Today Top 100 retailer, the company said. it is available for the Apple iPad and support for other tablet platforms will follow.

The Tablet edition integrates with retailers’ web-based 20-20 Icovia Planner products, making it possible for consumers and sales people to access and share designs across the entire Icovia platform. Mobile commerce is growing exponentially and “now we’ve extended that capability to the furniture showroom floor,” said John Thompson 20-20’s, Icovia sales manager,

The home furnishings industry urgently needs a room-planning solution as the initial feature set on a tablet over other capabilities such as catalogue, browsing or configuring and visualizing furniture, Thompson said.
